BOTOX® Cosmetic in NYC

BOTOX® Benefits for New York Patients: Manhattan, Long Island, and Westchester

Plastic surgeon Dr. Kaveh Alizadeh personally administers BOTOX® Cosmetic for his NYC-area patients who desire a safe, nonsurgical approach to facial rejuvenation. Since its initial FDA approval in 2002 for cosmetic use, BOTOX® Cosmetic has become a household name, and millions of women and men worldwide have benefitted from its wrinkle-smoothing effects. When tiny amounts of BOTOX® are carefully injected into target dynamic muscles, it functions as a neuromuscular paralytic agent, temporarily weakening those muscles and, as a result, minimizing the wrinkles and creases that occur when those muscles contract. The result from just one 15-minute office treatment in Long Beach, Manhattan, or Westchester? Three to six months of smoother skin and a more refreshed, youthful countenance.

At Cosmoplastic Surgery, we offer BOTOX® Cosmetic for the following FDA-approved and off-label indications:

FDA-Approved Indications

  • Frown lines between the eyebrows
  • Horizontal forehead creases
  • Crow's feet around the eyes
  • Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating)
  • Migraine headaches

Off-Label Indications

  • Vertical lip lines
  • Prominent jaw or neck muscles
  • Nonsurgical brow lift

In spite of its popularity and widespread application, BOTOX® Cosmetic is a serious prescription medication that should be administered only by a skilled, licensed, and experienced medical professional who can determine the correct dosage and injection site(s) as well as identify potential contraindications for use. Selecting a qualified provider can decrease the possibility of adverse side effects and help ensure that results will not look unnaturally frozen or overdone.

At Cosmoplastic Surgery, board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Kaveh Alizadeh has years of medical education and extensive, specialized training in BOTOX® injection techniques. He works to achieve a delicate balance between softening wrinkles and preserving your own natural facial expressions. In his 16-plus years of experience as a preferred provider of BOTOX® Cosmetic, thousands of patients have trusted him to deliver subtle but impressive results.

Why Choose Dr. Alizadeh

As a board-certified plastic surgeon and premier provider of BOTOX® Cosmetic, Dr. Alizadeh has acquired expertise in human facial anatomy and physiology. He understands precisely how our dynamic, or mimetic, muscles contract to form facial expressions to communicate nonverbally. He knows that the wrinkle between our brows is caused by years of contracting the corrugator supercilii and procerus muscles when we frown with disappointment, anger, or concentration. He knows that our forehead creases are caused from repeatedly raising our frontalis muscle to express surprise, curiosity, or skepticism. He understands that because the skin attached to those muscles moves each time the muscles contract, years of repetition lead to a breakdown of collagen and elastin, which serve to support the skin. As a result, wrinkles, lines, and deep creases appear. Dr. Alizadeh administers BOTOX® with precision to calm those very muscles involved in creating facial expressions that eventually lead to undesirable wrinkles.

In addition, Dr. Alizadeh's foremost concern is your safety, comfort, and satisfaction. Through years of experience administering BOTOX®, he has developed specialized injection procedures and can confidently guarantee a pain-free experience by applying anesthetic numbing creams beforehand and teaching patients pre-procedure calming strategies. He also offers supplements to minimize post-procedure bruising and always makes sure that you will be able to express yourself freely and naturally once the BOTOX® takes effect. That kind of understanding takes years of experience, caring, and a true eye for aesthetics.

What to Expect from Your BOTOX® Injections

This simple, 15-minute office procedure requires no preparation beforehand, unless you have elected to take supplements to minimize bruising. If needed, Dr. Alizadeh will apply a numbing anesthetic cream to the injection site(s) for your increased comfort. He will then carefully ease the medication into the target areas, and you may feel only a small amount of pressure from the needle.

Meet Dr. Kaveh Alizadeh

Following your treatment, you will be instructed not to massage the area for 48 hours, but you may wash your face and apply makeup directly afterward. Because of the effortless aftercare, many of our patients schedule their BOTOX® appointments during their lunch hour.

Results from treatment begin to appear in approximately three days, and full results are visible in two weeks. Effects from your first BOTOX® treatment will last approximately three months. Dr. Alizadeh's patients have reported that each consecutive application lasts slightly longer than the one before; some eventually schedule their maintenance every six months.

Other BOTOX® Applications for New York Patients

BOTOX® is also FDA approved for non-cosmetic purposes such as hyperhidrosis (excessive underarm sweating), migraine headaches, blepharospasm (abnormal eyelid spasm), overactive bladder, and strabismus (eye muscle irregularity), among others. Ask Dr. Alizadeh if you are interested in discussing any of the applications.

Many patients elect to combine BOTOX® Cosmetic with other nonsurgical office treatments such as dermal fillers or laser skin resurfacing for subtle, natural-looking facial rejuvenation that can delay for many years the need for facial plastic surgery.
